ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hi, I’m Maria Desnoyers, the artist behind By:Zo.

Photography has always been about noticing things—the architecture of a city, a landscape, a flower, or an ordinary detail that becomes interesting when you stop and really look at it.

My work begins with my own photography, often inspired by travel and nature. Some images remain close to the original photograph, while others are digitally edited and reimagined until they become something more painterly or abstract. I don’t follow one particular style. I simply work with an image until it feels right.

My background in interior design also shapes the way I see art. I think about more than the photograph itself—I think about how a piece will live in a room, its scale, its surroundings, and the feeling it brings to a space.

I created By:Zo Art in 2021 as a place to bring those interests together: photography, digital art, interiors, and the places and details that catch my eye.

I’m glad you’re here.
